We recommend to always keep your data stored on your Oakwood School Google Drive. You can and should use "Google Drive for Desktop" to automatically sync and back up everything on your Oakwood issued device.
However, in some cases, you may need to manually save all your files and upload to Google Drive. A likely scenario for many will be the replacement of their old Oakwood issued device. Follow the steps below to find out how to manually back up to Google Drive step by step or watch the video below!

Step by Step Instructions
MacOS
1. On your device desktop, right click and choose "New Folder". This will create a folder on your desktop. Label this folder "Backup"
2. Drag any and all files you need backed up into the Backup folder
3. Visit drive.google.com
Make sure you are signed into your Oakwood email account.
4. Click on New
5. Click on Folder Upload
6. Navigate to your Desktop by clicking on Desktop in the Favorites panel on the left. You can also click on the Desktop folder in the main Finder window.
7. Click on your Backup folder. Click Upload.
8. Click on Upload one more time.
9. After the upload finishes, you will now have access to your files on Google Drive.
Note: depending on the size of your folder and the number of files, the upload may take about an hour to finish. Please allow sufficient time for the upload process to take place.
